What is a laminate floor? It is a combination of special resins (melamine), paper layers, fiber core, and a print film that are all fused together into s solid mass. The melamine-impregnated surface with aluminum oxide makes it resistant to dirt and dust and very scratch resistant. Due to it’s construction and components, laminate flooring will not stain or fade from sunlight. The finish is extremely impact and burn resistant. These floors have precision tongue and groove edges that are fit together dry, via snap or tap-in installation (floated) over various different qualities of foam padding. Laminate floors come in a wide variety of wood designs, natural slate and stone & ceramic tile looks.
Mannington
One of the features of the Restoration Collection® that is valuable to many homeowners is the superior indentation resistance.
What makes the Restoration Collection® more indentation resistant than other flooring types?
Not all laminate cores are created equal. Mannington uses a premium moisture resistant high-density, low moisture core layer, which gives the floor durability, stability, and indentation resistance. This layer is what supports the stress and pressure of foot traffic, which is why it’s so important to install a laminate floor that uses a premium core!
